Summary

Brie finds herself caught between two princes and two destinies while the future of the fae realm hangs in the balance。

After Abriella's sister was sold to the fae, she thought life couldn't get any worse。 But when she suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies of her own making - loving two princes and trusting neither - things are not quite as clear as she once thought。

As civil war wages in the Court of Darkness, Brie finds herself unable to choose a side。 How can she know where she stands when she doesn't even know herself anymore? In this darkly romantic thrill ride, the more Faerie is torn apart from the inside, the clearer it becomes that prophecies don't lie and Brie has a role to play in the fate of this magical realm - whether she likes it or not。

(Arc)So everyone knows I devoured book 1。 So when I got the arc for book 2, my heart was mega happy。 This came in and MY GOD it was good。 And a perfect ending novel。 10 outta 10。

Three cheers to Lexi Ryan for writing a love triangle I enjoyed。 This was a fantastic conclusion to These Hollow Vows。 We really get all the tropes in this duology。 The character development was what really blew me away。 If you can make me hate, then love someone, you're getting five stars。 This has all the classic fairy tale vibes with romance, pining, and a satisfying ending。 Three cheers to Lexi Ryan for writing a love triangle I enjoyed。 This was a fantastic conclusion to These Hollow Vows。 We really get all the tropes in this duology。 The character development was what really blew me away。 If you can make me hate, then love someone, you're getting five stars。 This has all the classic fairy tale vibes with romance, pining, and a satisfying ending。 。。。more

3。5If you are looking for a book/series to read after an ACOTAR hangover, this duology is it! Very similar but also does it's own thing。 After reading These Hollow Vows I had to read These Twisted Bonds asap。 It starts where it left off in These Hollow Vows with Brie's anger。 We follow her, Finn and Sebastion as they figure out what to do about the bonds, children and the courts。There were plenty of jaw dropping and eyerolling moments。 Most eye rolls were towards Bash。 Finn was swoonworthy。There 3。5If you are looking for a book/series to read after an ACOTAR hangover, this duology is it! I would love to have a book dedicated to him。I did enjoy this book more than the first and I'm sad to see things story come to an end。 I had a lot of fun reading it。read an arc through edelweiss <3 。。。more

The one complaint that I had was that I think the pacing was a little off sometimes。 The first 75% of the book were quite slow (and focused more on the romance) compared to the last quarter, where so many things were happening in quick succession that it actually left me reeling sometimes。 I could've done with a longer epilogue and some extra chapters to see the endgame couple and their happily-ever-after。 Oh well, not complaining because at least my favorite got the girl in the end! 。。。more

Absolutely perfect sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Brie is a fierce female who fights for the rights of all the less fortunate。 She deserves nothing more than to be queen, but the unexpected always seems to happen in the magical realm of the Seelie and Unseelie。 Betrayal, love, and hope intertwine in this excellent sequel。

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this novel。 4/5 stars。 This is a sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Did I immediately binge read this after rereading These Hollow Vows? Yes。 To echo some of my comments from my review of THV, I felt like this was written for readers of the Cruel Prince/ACOTAR/etc。, because Brie embodies many of the same qualities as the MCs in those novels; however, the world is still unique enough to where it doesn't feel like an exact copy of the YA fantast novels Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of this novel。 4/5 stars。 This is a sequel to These Hollow Vows。 Did I immediately binge read this after rereading These Hollow Vows? The must anticipated sequel to These Hollow Vows is here!! Another page turner! These Twisted Bonds was a thrill ride! I couldn’t put it down。 I love the romance and development of relationships。 I think the author could have delved even deeper。 The start was a little slow but it really picked up about 25% of the way in。 Some elements felt rushed and I would’ve liked more detail or dialogue。 I thought the ending was appropriate and that the book had a good message。 I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to others。

Honestly just from the reviews is pretty clear who she picks in the end。 But what i dont understand is why some many girls wanted her to end with this guy, when in the first book they barely had any moments together, her relationship with the other guy was way more explore, i dont like neither of the two boys, but i think both maked the sames mistakes, they both betrayed her in the same way she just discovered one first than the other one, i dont see what makes one better than the other one。I ju Honestly just from the reviews is pretty clear who she picks in the end。 But what i dont understand is why some many girls wanted her to end with this guy, when in the first book they barely had any moments together, her relationship with the other guy was way more explore, i dont like neither of the two boys, but i think both maked the sames mistakes, they both betrayed her in the same way she just discovered one first than the other one, i dont see what makes one better than the other one。I just want to know why do you guys have preference for *we all know which boy* over the other, they both are as hateful as i could be, but at least she did knew the boy in the beggining and their love didnt see as superficial。 Sorry for my bad english, im not native, but i do want some opinion just to understand why do you actually like one guy when for me they both are the same shit。 。。。more

I really loved These Hollow Vows, so I was beyond ready to get into These Twisted Bonds。 A civil war is raging in the Court of Darkness and Abriella seems to be a key to finding the answer of how to find balance in the fae realm。 I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but this just was the perfect conclusion to the duology! I loved Abriella, she is working on figuring out her identity, while also balancing a power she doesn’t fully understand。 Her angst was wonderfully developed and she just felt so genuine in her insecurity and torment and in her search for self。 And the love triangle too was so well continued without feeling drawn out or frustrating。 I wasn’t Sebastian’s biggest fan in the first, and I didn’t love his behavior, but he had growth and I loved the insight into his emotions too as Abriella is forced to not only pick between him and Finn but also the fate of the realms。 And I loved Finn’s intensity and the friendship he has with Abriella。 There are a lot of ACOTAR vibes in this in a way that still felt original and fresh, but familiar。 The found family element is great too, and I love the side characters。 The chemistry of all of these characters is perfect and engaging。 I couldn’t put this down and I was so excited to see how everything concluded。 The magic is interesting and creative, the world is engaging and captivating, and the characters are so likable and genuine and the writing is beautiful。 Really wonderful duology! 。。。more

Lexi Ryan did Prince Ronan dirty。 Did he deserve the consequences for his actions? Absolutely。 Did he have to go from being a decent friend who actually cares for Brie and Jas to being a whiny diaper baby spoiled princeling? Ugh, so annoying。 All to turn the tide of love interest。 Especially since he is, in the end, rather noble。Despite those points, it was a super easy and indulgent read。 I honestly couldn't put either book down。Thank you to Clarion Books for sending me this ARC through Netgalley! 。。。more

This book started out on a giant cliffhanger。 I think we were all pretty angry at Sebastian and her reaction did not disappoint。 We start right into action and it's pretty much a whirlwind from there。 When I was 80% into the book I wasn't convinced this was a duology, because I was sure this book could not wrap it up in the last 20% but boy was I wrong! I did feel like it was a little fast paced towards the end, but the rest of the book made up for that。The love triangle was a little bit of push This book started out on a giant cliffhanger。 I think we were all pretty angry at Sebastian and her reaction did not disappoint。 We start right into action and it's pretty much a whirlwind from there。 When I was 80% into the book I wasn't convinced this was a duology, because I was sure this book could not wrap it up in the last 20% but boy was I wrong! An amazing follow up to ‘These Hollow Vows’。 I loved it ; twists and turns abound。 I loved the characters and waited with anticipation to see how the love triangle might play out。 Lots of action and some real surprises。 Not having read any other series by Lexi Ryan, I did enjoy her style particularly as her previous romances did not interest me in the same this duology has。

And as for Sebastian, I was so desperate for him to be killed off I didn't have to hear about him ever again。 He has no personality other than "want to be king and smooch Abriella", which is boring as hell。 He has pretty much no redeeming or interesting qualities and is basically a very bad copy of Tamlin without all the complex aspects of Tamlin's character。And Finn。 Once again, Finn was there。 And that's pretty much all you can say about him。 The romance was。。。。 bad。 (view spoiler)[ So Abriella goes from spending all her time defending Sebastian and begging everyone to like him, and then like a week later is making out with Finn for essentially no reason。 I don't know why she likes him, and I don't know why he likes her。 There is no growth or transition between her relationships, Abriella is basically a serial monogamist。 And then suddenly, she and Finn are declaring their love for each other, which is I guess because that's what happened in ACOTAR and this is a bad version of that? (hide spoiler)] The ending was fine? I guess。 I feel like I totally forgot it seconds after I read it, probably because it was incredibly anticlimactic and boring。 One of my big issues as well was the barely veiled mimicing of ACOTAR。 (view spoiler)[ We had the dark love interest gift the protagonist a cabin, tethering which essentially is a mating bond, the dark love interest making the protagonist literally glow with happiness, and even the dark love interest having the protagonist pretend to be his girlfriend to impress his fae court。 Obviously, these are general things but added together I just kept comparing it to ACOTAR, which is a better series。 If you got through this, go read that。 You'll be much happier。 (hide spoiler)]So yeah。 This did not do it for me。 Two stars。 。。。more

Ryan continues to deliver, picking up from the revelations and betrayals seamlessly with Brie having to work out what she does next, whilst she continues to hunt for her place in the Faerie world。 The world building and magic system continue to grow exponentially, with clarity and logic being applied so brilliantly that it’s pretty much flawless。 The history of Faerie including how the Seelie and Unseelie courts came to being was delivered perfectly。 There is no preaching, there is no teaching, the history, the magic, the world building, the threads of the story and the plot are all skillfully woven as they build upon the foundations laid in These Twisted Bonds。 The plot itself is totally on fire and completely satisfying, even if some of the twists and turns are whiplash strong and delivered at a flying pace。 I can see that it might have been tempting to pad this series out to a trilogy, but I’m really happy that despite the pace and a few sudden turns, it wasn’t。 From a character perspective, Abriella’s (Brie’s) character continues to grow, not only in her magical skill, but in her self-recognition。 She continues to fight for all that she believes in, but recognises and faces her own mistakes and errors of judgement, doing what she can to right wrongs and ultimately, deliver for the Unseelie。 Saying this, it’s definitely no walk in the park for Brie and she really does have to face her demons, Ryan handles this so well, delivering a depth of feeling that at times is seriously emotional。 And yes, I hear you ask what about the love triangle? What about Bash (Sebastian) and Finn (Finnian,) how is this handled? I’m not usually the world’s biggest fan of love triangles, particularly when they are far too prescriptive and not handled well, but Ryan delivers! The triangle between the three is devastating, emotionally draining, tense, heartfelt, joyous and of course steamy! And I really need to pay homage to Misha, he is an absolute dote。 Entirely honest about his intentions and where he seeks to benefit, but also so supportive of Brie and there for her, as a true friend should be。 Plus, his asides and comments are an absolute joy to read。 If you are looking for a truly thrilling, explosive, emotional conclusion to These Hollow Vows, then These Twisted Bonds delivers on all fronts! I read it in a single day, it’s fast paced, action packed, full to the gills with twists, turns, romance and more! And oh I wish I’d taken longer to read it, because finishing it was devastating…I didn’t want it to end! 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton for the ARC of this book! He was the best! I felt like the book started out so strong and I loved experiencing Misha's lands and Abriella's inner conflict about her bond with Sebastian and her conflict with Finn。 But then the romance started and it just turned a little meh。Overall not a bad conclusion, but nothing special either which makes me a little sad since I really liked the first one。 I will pick up whatever Lexi Ryan publishes in the fantasy genre again because the books were so readable and very addicting。Another thing, and this may be a spoiler but, in what other book have we heard about a queen being locked in an iron coffin。。。 Couldn't we have come up with something a little more original? 。。。more

This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2022, and when I received this ARC I could have cried of happiness。 I loved These Hollow Vows so much。 I devoured that book。 So I had very high expectations for this one。Review:While I enjoyed this book overall, I felt like the backstory of the Seelie/Unseelie courts was a little confusing and convoluted。 I feel like it could have been more polished and easier to understand。 I also found so many similarities to A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J。 This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2022, and when I received this ARC I could have cried of happiness。 I loved These Hollow Vows so much。 I devoured that book。 So I had very high expectations for this one。Review:While I enjoyed this book overall, I felt like the backstory of the Seelie/Unseelie courts was a little confusing and convoluted。 I feel like it could have been more polished and easier to understand。 I also found so many similarities to A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J。 Maas。 A lot of the writing seemed repetitive。 I just didn’t find it to be as well rounded as the first book。With that being said, I like the characters a lot。 The love triangle kept me on my toes and was well done。 I felt satisfied with the ending and loved how the conflict was resolved。 Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review this! 。。。more

These Twisted Bonds is a good sequel and answers all the questions we're left with at the end of These Hollow Vows。 The book starts right where the last one left off which is nice, there are no time jumps or rushed explanations。 The plot is quite slow at the start, there's an awful lot of faerie politics which I didn't love, I probably should've reread the first book to fully wrap my head around everything but I managed to get by with the general recaps given along the way。 The plot picks up onc These Twisted Bonds is a good sequel and answers all the questions we're left with at the end of These Hollow Vows。 The book starts right where the last one left off which is nice, there are no time jumps or rushed explanations。 The plot is quite slow at the start, there's an awful lot of faerie politics which I didn't love, I probably should've reread the first book to fully wrap my head around everything but I managed to get by with the general recaps given along the way。 The plot picks up once Finn is back on the scene and there starts to be more action and getting things done, I definitely preferred the second half。The angst is perfect, while Brie has two potential matches in Sebastian and Finn, the book doesn't solely focus on romance - which makes sense given the state of the world and everything going on。 There are just enough moments to make you root for one character or the other but it doesn't overwhelm the plot, the scenes that were there were great and I really liked how the romance turned out! Brie goes through a lot of personal growth as she comes to terms with her place in the world and her powers, I really liked how she didn't immediately accept her new life and needed time to grieve her human one。 I also liked that she didn't let Sebastian get away with the way he acted in the first book, she holds him accountable for his actions and doesn't forgive him easily。 The side characters are just as good as in the first book! I also really liked a new character, Misha, he's really fun and I'd love a spin-off book with him。 The duology is wrapped up nicely but I think the world is left in a good place for more books。 *Thank you to the publisher and author for the opportunity to view an advanced copy via NetGalley。 All opinions are my own and I was provided with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review。* 。。。more
